The club's Junior team advanced to the last sixteen of the Connacht Junior Cup after a hard earned 4-2 win over a resilent Manor Rangers side at Fahy's Field on Sunday afternoon.

Despite leading twice in the game, it took very late goals from Stephen Cunningham and Simon Walsh to eventually see off the visitors and book a place in the fifth round of the provincial competition.

The home side dominated possession in the opening half but it took them until seven minutes before the break to open the scoring. A ball into the box was not cleared by the visitors defence and Alex Lee controlled the ball well before squaring across the goal to Simon Walsh who finished to the net from close range.

Some poor defending from a Manor Rangers corner 11 minutes after the break saw the home side concede a poor equaliser as the ball to the near post was deflected home by a combination of Alex Lee, Mike Tierney and goalkeeper John Egan for an own goal.

The home side were back in front six minutes later when Eoin Concannon powerfully headed home a Simon Walsh free-kick from the left at the back post for 2-1 on 62 minutes.

Three minutes later and an excellent move from the visitors had them level once again as Alan Hickey shot past Egan into the corner following a break forward.

After that the home side pilled on the pressure but a combination of poor finishing and some excellent goalkeeping from the Manor keeper looked like sending the game into extra time until Cunningham struck in the final minute.

As the home side continued to pushed forward Simon Walsh played a lovely ball through the centre to set up Cunningham and he made no mistake finishing into the corner for a late winner.
