Under 12 Girls Cup Semi Final
Kinvara Utd 0-2 Mervue Utd
The club's Under 12 girls team produced a super win away to Kinvara Utd in the semi final of the under 12 cup on Sunday.
Keira Nugent got Mervue off to a great start with a fantastic strike after only 50 seconds and 10 minutes later it was 2-0 when Niamh McPeake finished off a great move after she beat three players and slotted the ball home.
Mervue were always on top in the game after that great start and Kinvara's goalkeeper kept them in the game with some great saves. A very strong Kinvara side kept trying to break down Mervue 's defence down but goalkeeper Saltanna Sweeney was never really troubled as all Mervue 's players played some lovely one and two touch football.
An outstanding performance from the girls on the day and now they go on to play Oranmore in the final where they will try to complete the league and cup double for 2014. Well done girls.
