Kildare Town 0-4 Mervue Utd
Mervue Utd's Under 14's advanced to the semi-final of the SFAI Goodson Cup after a 4-0 success away to Kildare Town in the national cup on Saturday afternoon.
Played in testing conditions, Mervue opened the scoring after 19 mins when Ronan Manning linked up with Aaron Connolly who steered a header beyond the reach of the Kildare custodian from 10 yards.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Ronan Manning fired a stunning free kick into the top corner from the edge of the box to double Mervue's advantage.
The game was put beyond doubt on 60 mins when a Colin Kelly delivery found the head of Adam Rooney who powered home from six yards.
Winger Adam Kelleher capped a fine performance when he converted another Colin Kelly cross to round off the scoring for Rynal Browne and Damien Brennan's side.
They will now enjoy a home semi final tie at Fahy's Field against either East End Utd or Newbridge Town in a couple of weeks time.
