U14's Advance in Irish Cup   24/02/2014

SFAI U14 Goodson Cup (Last 32 Round)
Mervue Utd 9-0 New Oak

The club's under 14's comfortably advanced to the last sixteen of the SFAI Goodson Cup after defaeting Carlow side New Oak Boys at Fahy's Field on Sunday afternoon.

Three goals inside the opening ten minutes set the home side on their way as Ronan Manning, Aaron Connolly and Adam Kelleher all registered goals.

Midfielder Ronan Ascari made it 4-0 on the quarter hour mark shooting into the corner after being set up by Aaron Connolly before the striker doubled his tally for the afternoon on 20 minutes for 5-0.

The visitors should have pulled a goal back just before the break when Sultan Owalobi got through but he delayed his shot and Cian Mulryan pulled off a wonderful save to push the ball away for a corner.

Two minutes after the break Aaron Connolly completed his hat-trick with a lobbed effort into the far corner past keeper William Rogers.

Ronan Manning added his second of the afternoon a couple of minutes later before completing his hat-trick with a well struck effort from outside the box on 48 minutes.

Manning completed the scoring as he registered a fourth of the afternoon as Damien Brennan and Rynal Browne's side eased into the last sixteen.

In that last sixteen tie they will play hosts to Limerick Desmond league side, Kilcornan, at Fahy's Field in March.
