The draw for the First Round of the 2014 EA SPORTS Cup has been made by the FAI National League Executive Committee and Mervue Utd have been handed a bye in Pool 4.

The club will face either Athlone Town, Longford Town, UCD, Bohemians or league champions St Patrick's Athletic in round two.

The 2014 competition will be played on a knockout basis and is divided into four regionalised pools until the quarter-final stage.

EA SPORTS Cup holders Shamrock Rovers  have been drawn in Pool 3 but have received a bye in the First Round.

The 2014 competition features five non-SSE Airtricity League sides. They are Avondale United from the Munster Senior League, Crumlin United of the Leinster Senior League, Cockhill Celtic from the Ulster Senior League, the Mayo League and Mervue United, who were members of the SSE Airtricity League last season.

Games in the First Round have been scheduled for Monday, March 10. The venue and kick-off time for the Pool 3 tie between Crumlin United and Drogheda United have yet to be confirmed.
