Mervue Utd 1-0 Evergreen (Kilkenny) FAI Junior Cup
Mervue Utd's Juniors advanced to the sixth round of the FAI Junior Cup after a hard earned win over Evergreen at a windy and wet Fahy's Field on Saturday night.
A second half strike from Simon Walsh proved to be the only goal of a tight game but it was enough to send Gary O'Connor's side through to round six.
After a scoreless opening half Barry Moran hit the crossbar ten minutes after the restart as the home side began to get on top with the elements in their favour.
The only goal of the game arrived on 71 minutes when Moran crossed for Simon Walsh to finish to the net for the winning strike.
