Mervue Utd 2-1 Castlebar Celtic (SFAI Goodson Cup)

The club's Under 14 team advanced to the fourth round of the SFAI Goodson Cup after an excellent 2-1 win over Castlebar Celtic in the driving rain at Mervue on Sunday afternoon.

First half goals from Ronan Manning (header) and Aaron Connolly had the home side firmly in the driving seat as they led 2-0 at the break.

The visitors never gave up though and pulled a goal back late on to make it a nervous finish but the home side held on to advance to the last 32 open national draw.
