Roots Academy End of Season Blitz 

Mervue Utd held another very successful end of season Roots Academy soccer blitz and family fun day in association with the Mervue Festival last Sunday at Fahy's Field.

Over 150 future stars of the club enjoyed a fun day of football from Under 6 to Under 10's on six seven a side pitches on the main playing pitch at Fahy's Field.

The family fun day also proved very popular with a large crowd enjoying all the activities on the day at the club's grounds with bouncing castles, penalty shoot-outs, face painting and a barbeque courtesy of club chef Johnny Carroll.

Special guest on the day Irish senior International Greg Cunningham and first team player Alex Lee presented all the young players with their medals and goodie bags after all the games were played.

The club would like to thank Donnie Farragher and all his Roots Academy coaches involved in organising the day and also MG Ryan & Co Solicitors for their sponsorship of the medals and goodie bags for every child.

The club would also like to thank the members of the Mervue Festival committee who organised the goodie bags for the Roots Academy Blitz members.

Roots Academy training on Friday evenings will resume in early September for all underage players and the club would like to wish all our young members an enjoyable summer.
