Junior A's Clinch Third Premier Title   28/04/2013

Mervue Utd 1-1 NUIG (Premier Division)

The Junior A team came from a goal down to secure a vital point against NUIG at Fahy's Field on Sunday morning.

Paul Sinnott's second half strike coupled with Athenry losing 5-2 to OLBC meant a third successive Brod Trill Premier Division title was claimed as Gary O'Connor and Ger McGrath's side moved onto 41 points.

Ger Cheevers had given the students an 8th minute lead from the penalty spot after Vinny O'Connor handled in the box but sub Paul Sinnott level matters with a great finish from Stephen Cunningham's knockdown following a throw in from Robert Connolly.

With the news coming through that Athenry were losing 5-2 to OLBC down at the Jesuits pitch that meant the point earned was enough for the celebrations to begin as both the club's Junior A and Junior B teams celebrated league title's together following the games which were played on ajoining pitches at Fahy's Field.
