Mervue Utd B 4-2 Galway Bohs (Second Division)

Two goals each from both Emlyn Coyne and Keith Long secured a winning end to a title winning campaign for Mairtin Higgins Junior B side as they were crowned champions at Fahy's Field on Sunday morning.

Having secured the title over two weeks ago Higgins side were determined to end the season on a winning note and that they did scoring four times at Fahy's Field on Sunday morning.

In the game Tommy Trill put Bohs, who needed the points to avoid relegation to the third Division, after just eight minutes with a good finish following a corner.

Emlyn Coyne levelled matters with a cracking strike on 38 minutes to leave the sides level at the break. Keith Long put the home side in front with quarter of an hour to go with another excellent strike.

Emlyn Coyne doubled his tally for the day with another good finish to make it 3-1 before Bohs pulled it back to 3-2 almost immediately.

But Keith Long had the final say as he also doubled his tally for the day with the fourth in injury time to end a very successful campaign for Mairtin Higgins side that started and ended on a winning note.

After the game Galway FA representative Donnie Farragher presented the Cup to winning captain Barry Connolly who was delighted to accept the trophy on behalf of Mairtin Higgins and the squad.
