Junior B's Capture League Title   15/04/2013

Renmore 1-2 Mervue Utd B (Second Division)

Mairtin Higgins Junior B team captured the Second Division League title following a 2-1 away win over neighbours Renmore on Sunday morning.

Only needing three points from their remaining three league games they ensured there would be no slip ups as they collected all three important points with two games to spare.

Having lead the division since week one back in September and only conceded seven goals all season it was a well deserved success for the Higgins led squad.

Emlyn Coyne opened the scoring after just a minute in Renmore as he headed home an excellent Dermot Warde cross for 1-0. The home side were level on 10 minutes as keeper Tony Cooke conceded a penalty which Kevin Connolly converted to level matters.

Midfielder Eoghan O'Boyle restored the lead with a brillantly struck effort for what turned out to be the winning score after a scoreless second period produced few chances of note.

Well done to Mairtin Higgins and his squad on collecting the club's first trophy of the season and not forgetting Lubos Vaclavek, the side's assistant player manager, who returned to his native Czech Republic just before christmas. Well done lads.
