U-16 SFAI Regional Cup Final

Mervue United 2-1 Castlebar Celtic 

The club's U-16 A team captured the first SFAI U-16 Regional cup as they defeated Mayo side Castlebar Celtic at the astro pitch at Fahy's Field on Sunday afternoon. 

The home side dominated the opening half and created several good scoring chances but it took a penalty four minutes before the break from Colin Kelly to eventually give them the lead.

Castlebar levelled matters after the break in a much more even second period and just when it looked like the game was going to extra time Charlie Concannon fired home a winner with a minute remaining to hand the home side a 2-1 win and the first silverware of the 2016/17 season.
