Gary signed for the club in 2013 and made 26 appearances scoring 10 goals to end the season as top goalscorer for the club, most notably scored two in the 2-1 city derby win over Salthill Devon in July 2013. Gary played all his football with Limerick side Newcastlewest until he became Sean McCaffrey's first signing as the new boss of Dundalk in January 2012. He made 20 league appearances for the Lilywhites that year and scored five league goals.
