Martin is another player who has come through the underage structure at the club winning many honours. He captained the side in 2011 when he only missed one game all season making 32 appearances. He made his debut in the LOI in the 2009 season against Dundalk in the third round of the FAI Cup at Terryland Park. He has made a total of 65 appearances in his four seasons playing for the club in the LOI. He is also a brother of Seamus Conneely (Sligo Rovers) who also played underage and junior soccer for the club before joining Galway Utd and is currently with Sligo Rovers. Martin is still awaiting his first goal in the LOI for the club something he hopes to rectifiy in 2013! Had a disrupted season in 2012 by injury and only made 12 appearances in the Airtricity League, returning to the starting lineup in the 3-0 win over Finn Harps in April only to get injury in the following game against Limerick. Returned in June for 4 games but recurring injury problems didn't see him play again until featuring in the last 4 games of the campaign in September/October 2012. Made a further 22 appearances in 2013 season (87 in total for the club)
