Connacht Cup Underage Treble Secured

It was a great day for the club at Moyne Villa's grounds in Headford on Saturday afternoon as all three club teams in Connacht Cup final action captured their provincial titles.

The U-12 team kicked things off with a 3-0 win over Mayo side Kiltimagh/Knock as first half goals from Ryan Corcoran and Charlie Phillipe were added to in the second half with a further strike from Josh Buckley to claimed the Connacht Cup.

The U-14 team soon added a second Connacht Cup title as they came from a goal down at the break to defeated another Mayo side in Castlebar Celtic 3-1. Ronan Ascari had Mervue level just after the break and Ronan Manning then scored from the penalty spot before top scorer Aaron Connolly added a further strike to run out 3-1 winners.

The U-18 side completed the treble for a wonderful day for the club as they defeated another Mayo side in Conn Rangers 4-1 in the Connacht Shield Final later in the afternoon. Goals from Andrew Connolly, Chris Carroll, Robert Spelman and Gary Bailey saw them claim the provincial shield title.

Well done to the management, coaches and players of all three squads on a great achievement for the club.
