Connacht Cup Underage Finals

It is a very big weekend for Mervue Utd underage teams as three club teams will contest Connacht Cup finals this weekend at Moyne Villa's grounds in Headford. 

The club's Under 12, Under 14 and youth teams will all be in action on Saturday as they hope to add provincial titles to this season's club honours list.

The Under 12 team will kick matters off on Saturday morning when they take on Mayo side Kiltimagh-Knock with kick-off now at 11.30 am. The club would like to thank Kiltimagh-Knock for facilitating the change of kick-off time to 11.30 am as the Connacht FA had ridiculously fixed both the club’s U-12 and U-14 games for 12 noon with Mervue having three sets of brothers involved with both squads.

The U-14 team’s provincial decider will kick off at 12 noon and they will face another Mayo side in Castlebar Celtic and will be looking for a third trophy of the season having already captured a league and cup double and also have an SFAI Goodson Cup final to look forward to later this month.

The club's Youth team will also take on a Mayo side as they face Conn Rangers in the Connacht Youth Shield final with kick-off at 3 p.m. They will be looking to avenge an earlier season defeat when the Mayo side sprang a huge shock knocking the club out of the FAI Youth Cup in the opening round of the national cup.
