Mervue Utd B 3-2 St Bernards (Michael Byrne Cup Second Round)

The club's Junior B team caused a shock in the Michael Byrne Cup as they came from 2-0 down to advance 3-2 after extra time against Premier Division side St Bernards at Fahy's Field on Sunday morning.

Martin Higgins side found themselves two down in the second half but the introduction of sub Mark Conneely proved decisive as he scored twice to level matters at 2-2 and send the game into extra time were Alan Tormey knocked home the winner from the penalty spot.
