Under 12's Face Castlebar Celtic in Connacht Cup Semi 2012-04-14 00:51:00

Under 12 Connacht Cup (Semi-Final) - Mervue Utd v Castlebar Celtic

Mervue's Under 12 team play hosts to Castlebar Celtic in the last four of the Connacht Cup at Fahy's Field on Saturday afternoon with kick-off at 4 p.m.

Damien Brennan and Rynal Browne's young side have already defeated Tuam Celtic (6-3), Athenry (5-1), Real Tubber (4-3) and Kiltimagh/Knock (4-1) in the quarter final to reach this stage.

They will look to key performances from goalkeeper Cian Mulryan who has been excellent all season since going between the posts having never been a keeper prior to this season.

They will also be looking for big games from impressive centre backs Wilson Wawreu and Hakeem Ryan, who have formed a solid partnership at the back, and Ronan Manning who is the creative spark while also scoring some excellent goals and showing great leadership on the pitch.

Young Colin Kelly, the youngest member of the squad, has been in flying form on the left wing and scoring some important goals, while Ryan Lally has led the line well and scored some great goals also. But all in all it has been a squad performance that has got the side to this stage.

Goals have not been a problem for the side as Cian Gilroy and Jason Gorham have also chipped in with important goals along the way with the team having scored 19 goals in the previous four rounds.

All support would be much appreciated by this young squad as they look to reach the provincial decider in May.

Kick off is a 4 p.m. at Fahy's Field.
