The fixtures for the Airticity League First Division were released earlier today, with the long awaited structure revealed. 

Mervue Utd will open their 2012 season at Fahy's Field as they host Longford Town at home on Friday 2nd March with a 7.45 p.m. kick-off. Three of the club's first four games will be at home in Fahy's Field.

Friday March 2nd - Mervue Utd v Longford Town
Friday March 9th - Finn Harps v Mervue Utd
Friday March 16 - Mervue Utd v Limerick FC
Friday March 23 - Mervue Utd v Athlone Town

The First Division will comprise of eight teams, all those whom didn't achieve promotion last season, with no new additions, although if a vacancy were to arise in the First Division, the licensing applications from both Tralee Dynamos and Cobh Ramblers would be reviewed. 
 

Salthill Devon will line out under the new name of SD Galway and use Terryland Park as their home ground for the forthcoming season. The first Galway City derby game will be the final game in series 1 and will see SD Galway at home in Terryland Park on Saturday 14th April (kick-off 7 p.m.)

The promotion/relegation playoff remains the same, with only the champions gaining automatic promotion.

The opening week of the season sees home ties for Limerick, Athlone Town, Mervue United and Wexford Youths. They will entertain Finn Harps, SD Galway, Longford Town and Waterford United respectively.
