The clubâs U10 and U12 squads won both capture cups over the weekend at the local Sonny McHugh 6-A-Sides held at the former Crescent Utd pitch in OâSullivan Park.
The U-12 squad followed up their Duffy Cup win of the previous weekend when they also retained the Ned Keogh Cup on Sunday evening after they defeated the Mervue Utd B team in an all Mervue final 3-1. Two goals from Sam O'Neill and another from Aaron Neary secured the final win after Ryan O'Connell had put the B's 1-0 up. The A's defeated Kilshanvey Utd A 1-0 in the semi's, while the B team defeated Salthill Devon B 4-2 in their semi.
The U-10âs made it a double success for the club when they also retained the Sonny McHugh Cup after they defeated Salthill Devon A in the final 1-0 courtesy of a Mark O'Halloran golden goal after extra time. Mark OâHalloran had also scored the winner in the semi-final as they saw off Salthill Devon B in the last four to reach the final.
Well done to both teams and their coaches on a great weekend for the club.
