Mervue Utd A 4-2 Colmanstown Utd (Connacht Junior Cup 5th Round)

The Junior A team advanced to the last eight of the Connacht Junior Cup with a 4-2 win over Colmanstown Utd at the astro pitch at Fahy's Field on Friday night.

Top scorer Barry Moran fired all four goals for the home team, scoring the opener from the penalty spot just past the half hour mark after Stephen Cunningham had been hauled down in the box and he added a second just before the break from Tommy Walsh's pass.

Moran added two further second half strikes as the home side ran out 4-2 winners and Garry O'Connor and Ger McGrath's side ensured their name will be in the draw for the quarter finals.

Moran collected his hat trick after his penalty was saved he buried he rebound, Cunningham had been fouled for the spot kick.

He then added goal number four on 75 minutes before the visitors pulled a second goal back.
