Swords Celtic 0-2 Mervue Utd (SFAI Barry Cup)
Mervue Utd's Under 16 side advanced to the last sixteen of the SFAI Barry Cup following an excellent 2-0 win over Swords Celtic in Dublin on Sunday afternoon.
Padraic Cunningham scored the opening goal when he finished a cross from Andrew Connolly in the first half. Goalkeeper Peter Healy ensured his side held that lead at the interval as he saved a penalty on the stroke of half time to keep his team in front.
Five minutes into the second half and Andrew Connolly doubled Mervue's lead with an excellent finish for 2-0. Mervue's Moise Assagbo was outstanding in the middle of the park all afternoon with a man of the match display.
Ollie Neary and Paul Moynihan's side now advanced to the last sixteen were they have a tough home tie against Stella Maris from Dublin in the next round.
