Mervue Utd 1 vs 0 Craughwell United 2012-04-09 11:07:00

The boys U14B team played Mervue B away last Saturday in what was effectively a league decider. The game was evenly matched right from the first whistle and Eoin Fahy missed the best chance to break the deadlock in the opening half, shooting over from close range. Adam Lawlor Smalle did put the ball in the net but was unlucky to be ruled offside. The second half swung from end to end in the same fashion before Mervue broke the offside trap to score with ten minutes left. Craughwell tried hard to equalise but just fell short on a 1-0 scoreline.

Mark Cunningham was excellent in the sweeper role while in front of him, Ronan Nevin and Alan Callanan worked tirelessly. Jack Doran worked the right wing very well to link the forwards into the game.
